*** KoRe Parable About the Simple Secret of Eternal Youth ***

My Chinese name is Wei Di. As usual in this parable, I embody both figures – Master Wei and his student Di.

"Youth does not fade where purpose keeps moving." ~ KoRe proverb

Di found Master Wei sitting beneath the old apricot tree, its branches heavy with fruit though the season was nearly past. The master's face, calm and bright, seemed untouched by time.

"Master," Di said, "everyone in the village wonders how you remain so youthful. Your steps are light, your eyes alive. What is your secret to lasting youth?"

Wei chuckled softly, brushing an apricot leaf from his sleeve. "Di, do you know why this tree still bears fruit when others have grown tired?"

"Because its roots are strong?" Di guessed.

Wei shook his head. "Because it is restless. Each year it stretches a little farther toward the sun, digs a little deeper into the earth, experiments with new branches, new blossoms. It never believes its work is finished."

He picked up a fallen apricot and rolled it in his palm. "Most people age not because time passes, but because they stop reaching. They settle into comfort, repeat yesterday, and call it wisdom."

Di frowned. "So youth is… movement?"

"Movement with meaning," Wei corrected. "A purposeful, creative restlessness. When your mind keeps exploring, when your heart keeps inventing, when your spirit keeps asking 'What else is possible?' – time cannot catch you."

The master stood, his robe stirring in the breeze. "I wake each morning curious. I end each evening unfinished. That is my elixir."

Di bowed deeply. "Then I shall cultivate restlessness."

Wei smiled. "Cultivate purposeful restlessness, Di. Wild wind destroys; guided wind propels ships across oceans."
