Dr. Manisha Acharya about
creating the WEneurs Forum
In
2019, during my Chevening CRISP
fellowship at the University of
Oxford, I pitched an idea close
to my heart: a 360 degree
support platform for women
entrepreneurs. A space where
women could access everything
they need from idea validation
and customer acquisition to
investor connections, all in one
place.
At
the time, women led startups
made up less than 14% of the
ecosystem. That number still
hasn’t moved enough. The need to
build a strong pipeline of
women-led ventures is more
urgent than ever.
In
the midst of the pandemic’s
uncertainty, with the unwavering
guidance of my mentor John
Hoffmire during the Chevening
Fellowship and a vision I deeply
believed in, I found the courage
to start
WEneurs™ Forum on August 12,
2021. It was born from hope,
purpose, and the desire to make
a difference when the world
needed it most.
