Domain Authority
(DA) is a metric developed by Moz that predicts
a
website's likelihood of ranking well in
search engines. It ranges from 1 to 100, with
higher scores indicating greater authority. DA
is influenced by factors like
backlink quality and quantity, site age, and
overall SEO strength.
While similar to
Ahrefs' Domain Rating (DR), DA is unique to
Moz’s algorithm. It’s useful for benchmarking
sites, conducting competitor analysis, and
assessing SEO performance. However, DA should
not be the sole metric—content quality and user
experience also drive rankings.
Domain Authority
(DA) is a search engine ranking score developed
by Moz that predicts a website's likelihood of
ranking on search engine result pages (SERPs).
Ranging from 1 to 100, higher scores (typically
40–60 is average) indicate stronger, more
authoritative sites with better, more frequent
link profiles. It is a competitive, third-party
metric, not a Google ranking factor.
Domain Authority
(DA) is no longer just an
SEO metric. Today, DA plays a bigger role in
how search engines and AI tools evaluate your
site’s usefulness, credibility, and visibility.
A higher DA generally makes it easier for your
content to be discovered, surfaced, and cited
over time.
AI Optimization (AIO)
is now more important than "ranking higher".
