The future is filled with uncertainty during these unprecedented times and in 2019 the US and China clashed and set tariffs which worried many people including those in the gambling and online slot industry − play Action Bank slot. The US connection to China is integral to the health of many different industries including the online gambling and slot industries, meaning both money and jobs depend on relations between these two super-powers.

The start of a trade war?

Back in the summer of 2019 safety announcements were made by China directed at Chinese nationals that resided in the US as well as businesses operating in the US and those holidaying in the US advising against travel to the US unless it was absolutely necessary to do so. This had a domino effect on the tourism industry and subsequently the gambling industry, with many casinos across the US feeling the effects of the decline in tourism, especially in Las Vegas which would usually attract thousands of Chinese tourists each month.

In trade talks at the end of 2019, it was agreed that tariffs would be delayed whilst a deal was agreed upon and set in stone. That didn’t happen and Trump attempted to restrict Chinese telecom giants Huawei will have an impact on any agreements made and will have a ripple effect on the online gambling and slots industry. This could mean that revenues could decline as licenses could be taken away. Only time will tell and the world is changing so rapidly, it is hard to predict at present - but regardless of what happens, players will still be able to enjoy their favourite slot games from the comfort and safety of their own homes!

What does the future hold?

2020 has been a rollercoaster ride for everyone and has affected every industry including the online gambling industry. Rigid regulations, as well as a prickly political position between the US and China, may well affect the future of the gambling industry as a whole but may have a limited impact on the online slot industry. While Trump’s controversial comments regarding COVID-19 calling it the “Chinese Disease” will do little to warm the cold relations between China and the US, whether that has a direct impact on the future of the online slots industry is questionable as players will still be able to sign up to online casinos and enjoy not only slot games but other classic casino games including Blackjack, Poker and Roulette.

Don’t sweat it - you will still be able to play your favourite slots online!

Despite what is going on in the world currently, online casinos aren’t going anywhere and more slot fans are flocking to online casinos than ever before. In the wake of the global pandemic and more people seeking entertainment online due to self-isolation, many online casinos are offering extremely tempting sign-up bonuses and offer which is set to help secure the future expansion of the online slot industry in spite of the increasing tensions between the US and China.
