KoRe parable
where master Wei teaches his student Di
this KoRe maxim:
In absolutely everything, the key
ingredient is the infusion – infuse everything with
love!
|

|
One misty morning, Master Wei asked Di to prepare tea
for the travelers arriving at the monastery.
Di
hurried – water boiled, leaves measured, cups arranged
with perfect symmetry. |
|
| |
|
When the travelers drank, they nodded politely, yet
their eyes remained unchanged, as if tasting nothing at
all.

|
|
| |
Di felt discouraged. "Master, I followed every step. Why
does the tea feel empty?"
Wei lifted a cup, inhaled, and set it down gently. "Di,
you placed the leaves, but not yourself."
He led the student to the garden where an old gardener
tended a single rose. The man touched each petal as
though greeting an old friend. "What do you see?" Wei
asked.
"A man caring for a flower."
|
|
 |
 |
|
"No," said Wei. "A man
infusing his care into the
world."
They walked to the kitchen where a woman stirred rice
for the monks. Her movements were slow, almost tender.
"What do you see now?"
"A woman cooking."
Wei smiled. "She is infusing nourishment with love."
Finally, Wei pointed to the tea in Di's
hands. "Technique is the vessel. Love is the
infusion. Without it, everything tastes hollow –
tea, work, words, even life."
Finally, Wei pointed to the tea in Di's
hands. "Technique is the vessel. Love is the
infusion. Without it, everything tastes hollow –
tea, work, words, even life." |

Competitors can
lure away a highly paid individual, but they
cannot lure away someone who deeply loves their
work.

KoRe proverb |
| |
|
Di closed his eyes, breathed deeply, and poured a new
cup, this time letting gratitude flow through his hands.
When the travelers drank, their faces softened.
Wei nodded.
"In absolutely everything, Di,
the key ingredient is the
infusion. Infuse it with love,
and the world drinks
differently."
