Here are some of
my semi-imaginary mini-conversations on today's
big topics with the most outstanding thinkers
and teachers of all time.
"I would trade all
of my technology for an afternoon with
Socrates,"
Steve Jobs once said. Let's enjoy such an
afternoon. |

"Fine. Since the tea is not forthcoming, let's have a
philosophical conversation," started the conversation
Anton Chekhov.
I supported his
idea, "Let's talk about Love, Creation,
Self-Improvement, Relationships, Harmony, and
Eternity." |

Learning
"Live as if you were to
die tomorrow;
learn as if you were to live forever,"
said Mahatma Gandhi
I asked, "What is the best way to
learn?"
"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I
do and I
understand," replied
Confucius.
"Education is the
kindling of a flame, not the filling of a
vessel," added
Socrates. |

Love and Peace
"Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that
brings peace," said
Buddha.
I agreed, "We all know this word, but we need to
rediscover it today."
"The way of
God's Messenger is the way of
Love. We are
all children of Love. Love is our Mother," replied
Rumi.
"Life
is God. The Kingdom of
God is within you," added
Leo Tolstoy. |

Search for Solutions
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we
used when we created them," said
Einstein.

I asked, "Can art suggest a good solution?"
"The role of the
artist is to ask questions, not answer
them,' replied
Chekhov.
"Wonder is the beginning
of wisdom," added
Socrates. |

Winning
"There are cases in which the greatest daring is
the greatest wisdom," said
Carl von Clausewitz.
"Is it possible to
defeat a much stronger opponent?" I asked.
"There is nothing impossible to him who will
try," answered
Alexander.
"Win
with ability, not with numbers," added
Suvorov.
"To win one
hundred victories in one hundred battles is not
the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without
fighting is the acme of skill," said
Sun Tzu.

Harmonious Development
"A true
conservationist is a man who knows that the
world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed
from his children," said John James Audubon.
I asked, "Isn't
harmonious growth better than sustainability?"

harmony, not
uniformity,” replied
Confucius.
Mozart exclaimed,
