What is Meditation?

Meditation is the methodical expansion of human consciousness beyond acquired beliefs and attitudes about life so as to encounter a deeper reality directly.

Meditation is not a withdrawal from the world, as many may think of it. It is a means to encounter the world in order to understand it and yourself.
